You need to do more, to get more, to get more results. It is something very simple to understand. So, I want you to approach these simple search engine optimization tips for bloggers online, with a good mentality. πŸ™‚

Now, let me teach you some simple search engine optimization tips to help you find the right long tail keywords, and use them to help your blogs online build up free search engine traffic. πŸ™‚

There is a simple method to learn how competitive a keyword really is on Google.com – that I have learned a long time ago. Of course, you can use a lot of keyword tools today that can help learn more about a keyword. But this is a good simple, old school way you can learn to use, if you don’t want to invest in tools. haha

I mean, you don’t need to know so much about a keyword. You just need to learn simple things that can help you keep the entire process simple, so you it’ll become a lot easier to be very consistent with everything you need to do. That’s how I look at it.

Simplicity helps!

Okay …..

Let me show you what I do to find good long tail keywords to use on my blog posts and content for my blogs.

Let me use the keyword “search engine optimization tips for bloggers” – for an example.

Here is what I would do to see how much competition this keyword has on Google.com.

Go to Google.com – Start typing what keyword you would like to use, and make sure you find a keyword from the Search Inquiries Suggestions.

Google is giving you search suggestions because a lot of other people have typed that in there too. So, this means that long tail keyword get a little bit of traffic. Otherwise, Google would not suggest it to you. πŸ˜‰

1

Next, put the keyword in quotes. We want to find out exactly how many searches there are for this exact keyword.

1

Now, it is time to find out exactly how many site have this keyword in the URL, in an Anchor Text, and in the Title.

Here is how you find out how many sites are using this keyword in the URL.

2

Here is how you find out how many sites are using this keyword in an Anchor Text.

3

Here is how you find out how many sites are using this keyword in the Title.

4

You can find out a lot about a keyword by doing this. And honestly, this is enough information for you to learn the competition of a keyword and if it would be wise to use it or not. The lower the Results Numbers, the better.

There are no specific numbers you should be looking for. Just learn what will work for you with trial and error. Eventually, you will find out what result numbers work best for you.

There is nothing more you need to learn, to pick good keywords to rank for, really. But, of course, you could learn more, and it could really help you more – but if you are going to learn more, just to get lost in all of the information and get information overload, then keeping it simple is the smarter choice for you. πŸ˜‰

Keeping simple also works! .. you just need to do it right, and take a lot of action with the simple information.

Do a simple keyword research and once you have chosen the keyword you want to use – it is time to create a search engine optimized blog post.

Follow the simple On-Page SEO information:

– Use your keyword in the headings – H1, H2 and H3.
– Use your keyword in the Title.
– Use your keyword in the first sentence and in the last sentence of your article.
– Make sure your keyword is in the URL.
– Make sure you Underline, Bold and Italicize your keyword.
– Make 1 to 3 of your keywords in the article – click-able/hyperlinked.
– Use your keyword in Alt Tags – you need to upload an image on your post and put your keyword in the ALT Description of the image.
– Make sure your keyword is in the Meta Tags Title and Description.

If you can’t follow every single on-page search engine optimization from the list above, on your blog post, do not stress so much about it. Of course, it would be better to follow everything.

Just don’t try too too hard. You also need to keep the reader in mind at all times, never forget that. If you think too much about the keyword, you might forget about the reader, and you might end up over using the keywords. I don’t think that would sound like quality, valuable content. Just saying….

Just let the keyword come to the sentence naturally. Focus a lot more on Quality content! πŸ˜‰

You have to create cool and valuable content. You need to answer questions and problems the people using the search engines have. Very simple stuff to understand.

Learn how to do a little bit of keyword research, learn how to pick good long tail keywords, and use them throughout the contents on your blog.

Do a little bit of Off-Page SEO, and market your blog posts as much as possible. You just need to be consistent with the entire process for a while, and start building up free organic traffic through high quality content.

Here are the things you need to work on for better off-page search engine optimization:

1 – Social Network Interactions

2 – Comments

3 – Natural Backlinks

Very simple stuff. If you keep it simple, of course.

One of the best things that can get a lot social network interactions, a lot shares, and likes, etc …

…is EPIC Quality Content!! πŸ˜‰

You need to make sure the content share solves problems in your niche. Just find the questions with a little bit of research, and give them the answers.

You would have to be writing a lot, of course. But hey, you can definitely learn how to love it too. You just have to make the settled decision to do it. It pays off at the end, just think about that while creating a lot of epic blog posts for others.

You also need to market those blog posts as much as possible. This is why you must optimize your blog posts with some long tail keywords, that a lot of people can start finding you more online. You can also get a lot of social network traffic, if your content is just too good to not pass it around!! lol

Hey by the way, if you like post, please share the knowledge! ..thanks! πŸ™‚

When you have the right keywords, and you use them to show people what they really looking for, the search engines just want to reward you. BUT as long as the people decide how good your content is.

I mean, of course, there are ways and tools to help you get a lot of social shares and comments on your blog posts. But when you start getting social shares and comments without a lot of your help, that’s when you know your content was really really good. People loved it! πŸ˜‰

When your blog’s content start getting a lot of these cycles, you can get a lot of free traffic. It’s all about building them up.

  • I think that using a lot of off page seo such as the forums and commenting you will see the results but most websites neglect it thinking good content is all that matters.

The fundamental issue with this is you need visitors to that content for it to matter and this is where are lot of people fail.

  • Hey Freddy,

All it really takes is to just keep it simple, consistency, confidence, and dedication. You are right about SEO. There is so much information out there that it can leave all of us dazed and confused. But if you just do the simple tactics like the ones you mentioned, you’ll realize how power they are and what they can get you!

I also have to admit that I use to hate writing English, and English is my primary language LOL. When I got into blogging, I didn’t like it that much, but it grew on me. Plus a lot of people I know weren’t that support and some even mentioned “who would even read my blog in the first place”. That gave me the energy to do it just to piss them off LOL.. j/k.. but I already knew I can improve. It may have taken a lot of time, but I knew I could improve, and from all the blogs I was reading, they didn’t follow the same rules as what they taught us in school, which was a plus for me πŸ˜‰

Thanks Freddy for the share and I hope you enjoyed your weekend! Have a good one!

    • Freddy Gandarilla

But yeah man, I know what you mean when people tell you negative things about something you are looking to accomplish … you just want and need to show them wrong!! πŸ˜‰

Way to go Sherman! .. you really came a long way! .. you got a nice blog and are accomplishing a lot online!

Keep up the great work man!

  • Hi Freddy,

This a very useful article you bring for us on Nikhil’s blog!
Definitely, it is a good idea to select long tail keyword for ranking easily.
There is more competition on broad keyword.
And, for getting information about keyword’s competition this trick works greatly. I also do that for my blog.

Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing this useful article with us.

    Happy blogging!

  • Hi Minhaj!

I’m glad you think so! πŸ™‚

I always recommend to sprinkle your content with long tail keywords, because they are easier to rank for and the traffic can add up. Although the traffic numbers are not the highest, you can actually add up rankings and build up organic traffic very fast that way!

That’s good that you use these simple techniques to learn more about long tail keywords, it is a manual process that is very simple to implement. I honestly don’t really use software to come up with long tail keywords – I just see what others are searching for on Google and do my best to deliver the best content possible. πŸ˜‰

    Thanks for your comment!

    Have a great week! πŸ˜€
